DISNEYLAND EXPERT ADVICE NEEDED!

Yes, we are going to Disneyland the end of April! Mike and I are so excited to take the kids! The last time Mike went he was super young, and I had just graduated from High School, so needless to say it has been a long time! I know a lot of you have been (I have seen your Disneyland posts) and, we really need to know any good advice you may have. We already have our accommodations set up, we just need some park info. Like any discounts, what is a must do etc. We will be in Anaheim for 3 days. Is it best to just do Disneyland the whole time, or are any other parks worth it, like Lego land etc. Then we will be heading to San Diego for 5 days. We will go to Sea World when we are there. Has anyone been to the zoo? Any other really fun things to do in San Diego? Any advice would be wonderful. I have been on a few websites and am just blown away by the amount of info.........please help!

I think 3 days is perfect in Disneyland!!! At least it was for us. We really liked the night firework show. Also we ate a lot of our own food (either in the park or our hotel room that we brought) and then ate out for just one meal a day. Have fun. We told the kids when the babies are around 3 years old we are on our way.....

How fun! The fast passes are a great thing. You can scan each of your tickets at certain rides and it will give you a return time when you can walk right on the ride! No line!!!! So, take advantage of those when you can. Also, take advantage of any early entry specials. You can practically walk onto the busy rides before tons of people get there...like for the Finding Nemo ride. HAVE A TON OF FUN!!! OH, MAKE SURE YOU WEAR GOOD SHOES!!!!!
I've been to the zoo, but it's been a long time. There was tons to see and I can remember riding in a tour bus through big areas of the zoo. Sorry, not much help there!

What’s all this talk about Disney in California??? Never heard of such a fantasy; everyone knows that Disney is in FLORIDA!!! When we go to the parks we always take in a backpack full of snacks. We freeze box drinks so that they help keep everything nice and cool. (But once more that’s more relevant to the REAL Disney in Florida lol.) We do buy a mid day snack as a treat. If they have them in CA buy the Bar-B-Q turkey legs Oh my heck they are to die for!!! YUMMY Have lots of fun and take lots, and lots of photos for us to see your fun.

K I don't know what all this talk about Disney World is, when we went to Florida, I missed Disneyland. I would give yourself at least 2 of the days for Disneyland, because of the California Adventure too. Really though, 3 days there would be fine. I would recommend doing a Character Lunch though Like Arials Grotto, or with Goofy. It is a little pricey, but you get most of the characters without having to find them, and the kids get 1:1 time, it is for sure worth it! You driving then?

The kids in my family LOVED lego land - it was so worth it. We usually do 3 days in Disneyland. The food there is really expensive. The San Diego Zoo is absolutely worth it - take the bus tour. I can't think of anything other advice at the moment. I hope you have an awesome time. Can't wait to see pictures!

That is funny that you are going. mark and I are going this year too. I have some help, my sister in-law lives near disneyland I just talked to her about when is the best time to go these are her words "Any time is good except 2nd half of april, july, and august oh and thanksgiving day." I hope that helps, she has a year pass to disneyland so she goes all the time seriously like at least twice a week with her son so I trust her judgement. We are going in September but that is hard for you guys cause of kids in school but I hope that helps....

I would definitly do 3 days. And you have to go to california adventure! The bugs life land is awesome! We spent a ton of time there! I also agree with anna, take tons of snacks, the snacks there are so expensive! also, I say eat breakfast at your condo, bring snacks for the day then eat lunch in disneyland, then go out to dinner OFF the grounds. (you get better food, for cheaper) then you can go to your condo and get the kids some jackets to go watch the night shows- they are awesome and totally worth letting your kids stay up late! :) .....I'm so jealous!

ok...this is going to be so fun!!! I am so jealous! Look into the price difference os a 3 day pass and an annual pass b/c if i'm correct it might be cheaper to get an annual pass and you get discounts at stores and restaurants. plus if you want to go again next year it will be a free pass! Have to eat churros...save your pennys for those...they are a must!!!
I personally thought Lego land was LAME but if your kids must go then do it but you wont be missing much. Definately San Diego Zoo and sea world! Costco also carries passes for a cheaper price...look into that, I'm not sure what it all covers. There is a Beach called "Seal Beach" in San Diego where the Seals come to the shore and hang out..the kids might really like that. La Jolla is also a fun beach-city. Eat lots of In-and-Out...best burgers and fries in the WORLD!
definately do a character breakfast or lunch! they are like $50 a person but so worth it b/c then if you dont see a character in the park it wont be a big deal for the munchkins! I am so excited for you...I can keep going on about Disney but if you have any other questions about it give me a call! Lynette might also know a lot more abuot Disney then I since she goes 2 times a year!

Hey Jody,
In San Diego there is a very small Mormon Battalion museum that is worth a peek, it is located in Old Town where you can eat the best Mexican this side of this border. The best beach in San Diego is La Jolla beach it is a really beautiful, but still family friendly beach. I highly recommend it. Also When at Sea World the best show is the dolphin show.
