Savannah's first Utah Game

On Saturday we went to the Utah game and had a great time! It was Savannah's first time and she really did do pretty good! We tried to get a babysitter, and when we couldn't find anyone, decided to take her with us. Her favorite part was watching the people around us and munching on the fruit snacks we smuggled in! It was perfect weather and a great game - the Utes won, who could ask for more? We really enjoy going to the games as a family. A few rows behind us some guys starting yelling and flashing gang signs, it created quit the ruckus! Brett was pretty entertained with seeing the cop "take the bad guys to jail". What a night! It has been fun seeing the Utes, and we look forward to the rest of the season. Go Utes!

Savannah

Since I have recently done an update on Emily and Brett for school, I thought I should do a post on Savannah! She is almost 21 months old, I can't believe how fast time has gone by and my baby is growing up! She is so independent, she will not let me help her with anything, she has to do it herself. I think it is because she has two older siblings to look up to and figures; if they can do it so can I! We go to the park at least once a week and when Emily and Brett were little I would follow them around on all of the park equipment. If I try that with Savannah she just turns around, looks at me and tells me, "Don't!" That is her favorite word and she says it all the time, usually it is directed to Brett. Her favorite think to eat in the whole world are Ritz crackers. I think she keeps their company in business! She will point to where I keep them and say, " Mama, Cwacka". She loves to be held, give hugs and kisses and especially have Daddy sing to her at night. I work a lot in the evenings so Mike is the one who puts her to bed. He picks her up, she lays her head on his shoulder and while he pats her back he sings "Savannah Smiles" from the movie with the same name. She loves it! If I am home to put her to bed she won't let me, she wants her Daddy. We are so lucky to have her in our family and I am so grateful for her strong willed personality and stubborn ways, along with her sweet smile. Love ya Sweetie!
P.S. I went onto my music list to see if the song Savannah Smiles was on it, the version we know wasn't. But I found this song. It is really good too! So, turn on your music and have a listen!

Labor Day Weekend

Mike goes camping every year with his Dad and brother over Labor Day. A few years ago they started having some of the nephews come. This year Mike decided to take Brett. I thought Brett was still a little young, but hey, if he wanted to take him, I was willing to let him go. I got all of Brett's things packed and right before Mike left he surprised Brett by telling him that he was coming too. Brett got a shocked look on his face, he couldn't believe he was going camping with Daddy! He had such a great time, and Mike did too. This year they went to Flaming Gorge, the campsite wasn't ideal and the fishing was pretty bad too, but Brett is still talking about it. Being able to spend a whole weekend with just Dad (and no girls - he keeps reminding me) truly was priceless to him.

Such a handsome little guy! I really did miss having him around!
Brett spent more time throwing rocks in the lake than trying to fish.
He also told me they had really good food there. "Really" I said, "What did you eat?" I was curious since he is such a picky eater. Brett answered, "Chips, nuts, snacks, cookies, chocolate...........oh and bacon! Mom, we should have those things for dinner, since I don't like potatoes." Oh, good to know! All I have to do is make dinner from the items listed above and his pickiness would be solved!
While the boys were gone Emily, Savannah and I went to the Children's Museum! I had not been to the new one, and if you haven't been you should check it out. We had such a great time. Em got behind the newscaster desk and seriously talked for like 10 minutes about a story she was "reporting" on. It was so cute!

They have a section where you can dress up and act. Savannah loved the Cheetah outfit and I had to bribe her with snacks to finally take it off!

Shopping at the grocery store was also a huge hit. Savannah would put the food in her cart, pay for it, pretend to eat it and put it back. Emily also had fun shopping for everything and playing with the cashier. It was a great day, we will have to go back soon and take Brett. Thanks to Shannon for getting us in and giving us the grand tour!

It was a good weekend, and although I had fun with just my girls, I was excited to have the boys come back home.

Aaron and Stef's Baby, Cassidy

We were all really surprised 2 days ago when Stef went in for a routine Dr's visit, and ended up being put on bedrest. Stef is my little sister who is due with her first baby on October 9th. This morning I had a call from my mom saying that she was in the hospital and was dilated to a nine! Stef had woken up at 1:30am in pain and decided to go into the hospital, figuring they would just stop her labor. Once she got to St Marks she was dilated to a 3, and they told her that she would be having a baby today! Both she and Aaron were shocked!

Cassidy Jean Delahunty entered the world at 10:14am, she is 6 lbs 12 oz and 17 inches long. She is beautiful with dark curly hair, and a round face. She looks just like Stef did when she was born, except Stefanie was over 9 pounds! Being a baby born at 35 weeks, she is in the NICU. She is receiving oxygen and was intubated temporarily so they could give her Surfactant to help her breathe easier. She also has an ART line so they can measure her pressures better. The NICU MD assured Stef that she would be running around in no time, and that everything was going very well. He anticipated Cassidy would be in the hospital for about 2 weeks, depending on how well she does. Stef, of course wishes she could just hold her little girl, as we all wish we could. Just keep her, Aaron and little Cassidy in your prayers that she will be strong enough soon. Love you Stef and Aaron, she is such a beautiful little girl!
