A work of art

Our "Super family" I love how Savannah is "flying" in the background. Mike and Brett are on the other side since there wasn't enough room.
She knows how to write Emma and Brett and so every family picture has their name on it, she thinks Savannah's name is too long. Notice the beautiful necklace Emily is wearing!
Em drew this after Mike took them to the football game. There is the guy throwing the football while the fans watch. When I asked her what was above him she told me it was the big TV to see the close up of the football ~ too cute! On the back it says, "Go Utes!"
Sorry this is sideways! Emma loves to make pictures and drawings for all her friends. This is one she made recently for her cousin Haylie. They are best friends. I love their big lips!

I love to see all the artwork Emily does, it is fun to see her creative side and see her learn how to write letters. One of my favorite drawings that I couldn't find is one of Mike fishing. There is a huge fish with a big smile on it's face about to eat the salmon eggs. Hope these pictures bring a smile to your face!

Easy Snack

If you know me, I am all about making easy snacks and meals. This is one of my favorite, banana muffins. You can take any banana bread recipe you like and cook them in the mini muffin pans. My sister first did this and I love it! It cooks quickly, they are bite sized and the kids aren't as messy with them as they are with the bread slices. Brett loves to help me make anything. He has such a fun time counting as we put the ingredients in, and then he always eats what we make better since he helped. This is especially nice when he helps make dinner since he is such a picky eater! Here is my banana bread recipe ~ enjoy!
1/2 cup oil
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3 very ripe bananas
Beat all together and then add
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
pinch of salt
1/4 cups nuts (optional)
Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until brown on top
I just want to add a little plug for my sister. She designed my cute blog and updates it for me. I love it because no one else has one exactly like it! She started a little blog design site if you are interested ~ info on the side bar, Jenny Marie blogs. Thanks Jen for helping me get started with blogging, for being such a great sister and friend. Love ya!

Savannah

Since I recently did a post on Brett and on Emma, when they were starting school, I thought I should do a Savannah update! She is now 8 months old, time has gone by so quickly! She loves to smile, but also gives people a serious stare if she doesn't quite know what to make of them. Last week she started to wave - so cute! She makes all sorts of noises and now when she is doing her complaining cry it sounds like "ma ma ma ma ma!" I don't know if that counts as her first word or if she has just picked up from the other kids that if you want to cry or complain mom is the one to do it to. She wants to hold everything, and once something is in her grasp it goes straight to the mouth! I think she is going to start to crawl soon. That is if I ever give her the opportunity to try. She will play on her stomach really well, she flaps her arms and can scoot around in a circle. I really don't want her to start to crawl because anyone with a child knows that means more work keeping the house baby proofed and keeping a constant eye on them when they are mobile! It makes me laugh to remember how I was so worried when Em didn't crawl or walk for a while. I should have enjoyed it! Savannah is such a sweet baby who loves her walks, being held by mom, laughing at Dad and watching her brother and sister. She does not like it if she is not the center of attention. She does not like bottles, binky's, peas or loud noises like the blender, vacuum or a yelling brother. One of my concerns when we named her Savannah was that she really did not have a name that I could shorten. I am all about nicknames! But, she has a bunch now, here a a few. Daddy calls her sweetie pie, Emma calls her cutie girl, Brett calls her Zabanna or Favanna ( he still can't say her name!) And I call her Baby Banna, or Banna Boo. It has been fun to see more and more of her personality lately; it seems like every day she does something new! We love having her as part of our family!

Football season is here!

As you can see we are Ute fans ~ or as Emily would say "We like the Go Utes". Whenever she meets someone new she will usually ask; "Do you like the Go Utes or the Go Cougars?" It is pretty funny! The Utes hosted UNLV this Saturday and Mike took Em and Brett to the game. He only had two tickets and was disappointed he could only pick one of them and was going to take Emma since he took Brett to an extra Basketball game earlier this year. Right before he left we decided to try and find out if Brett could be a lap child. We looked at the tickets and saw that he could! Mike took both of them, and also outfitted them in Ute attire. They were so excited! I missed this game to stay home with Savannah, she still isn't taking a bottle and since it was a late game I wanted to be with her to put her to bed. But, we have season tickets and will definitely be going to more games this fall. The kids had a blast at the game and so did Mike. The Utes won of course; 42-21. After the game they even had fireworks, ending with the Utah fight song. The kids had the time of their lives! Thanks Mike for taking the kids, not every man would go to a game with two children and enjoy it as thoroughly as you did. I love you!

Brett's First Day of Preschool!

I had to add this picture, because this is the "shark" pose I usually get whenever I try to take a picture!

Isn't my little man handsome? I can't believe he is going to preschool! He has been so excited to go, especially since Emma has been going to kindergarten. We walked Em to school and then came home for a bit before we walked up to school. He ran right up to the door and went in, never looked back! When I picked him up he just talked about all the fun stuff he did. He was especially impressed with the snacks! It is fun to see him go to school, to be so big and ready to be on his own! It was pretty crazy for me to be home with just Savannah ~ it was also really nice! I look forward to spending more one on one time with her. Brett is going to be pretty upset tomorrow when we take Em to school and he will have to come to grips that he only goes 2 times a week. Here are some questions, the same that I asked Emma.
